When my sister told me that there would be a spring carnival at her youngest daughter’s school last Saturday, I assumed it would be a typical little fun day with raffles, games, face painting, food (and maybe even a jumping castle or two.)
Irene Primary School still has a village feel to it, situated in the sleepy, tree-lined suburb as it is, and so the last thing I was expecting was all the fancy theme-park style adventure rides that were trucked in for the kids. And did they have fun? Absolutely!
I would imagine that this was a new experience for most of them – judging by the delight (and sometimes terror) on their faces…
