It’s normally the youngest of the Midgley boys who comes up with the funniest sayings, but today I’m featuring Reece, the 8-year-old second youngest … (Thank you to his mother for these).
Yesterday Reece was telling someone that he couldn’t find something, but then he “saw it with the apple of my eye”!
And last week: “Mommy, what on earth do they mean ‘Gird your lions with truth???’”
Of course, Reece has a history of mis-hearing and mis-quoting, like last year as a 6-year-old, while in Grade 1, when his brother was telling him about Malaria: “It makes you hot and cold and your muscles cramp,” said Andy.
Reece was horrified – more than one would have expected. Why?
He heard, “It makes your heart cold and your muscles damp.”
To mix quotes, i came along this one, but as far as i know by an adult, that made me laugh: ‘Where the iron lies down with the lamp’
Those faces he pulls!
I believe you would call that the typical “Reece”.
Didn’t realise that “my Preciousest” is giving Dubs a run for his money in the freckles stakes!! Lovely picture of you, my Preciousest.
