On Tuesday night I went to say goodbye to some friends who were flying to Canada from OR Tambo airport in Johannesburg. (I was not flying, unfortunately, but I do love the airport as it whets my appetite for travel and adventure).
I was keen to take some photos from the viewing area of the ‘planes from around the world lined up on the apron. But by the time I got there, at around 9.30pm, it was virtually empty… (I was shooting through grubby, grimy, fingerprint-streaked glass, so don’t expect mind-blowing photos). There were many people waiting for passengers, so I’m not sure where the ‘planes they came in on were stashed.
Love airports except, of course, when one gets stuck in one .. those ones usually seem far more boring than JHB!
I agree. I was once stuck in Beijing airport (before it was upgraded for the Olympics). Not pleasant…
Magnificent pics. The airport is awesome hey?
Certainly a lot shinier and easier to navigate than before the World Cup!
