Children in church

Well, you see, it's like this ...

All week I’ve been blogging about children. As my final post I thought I’d feature kids’ ministry / children’s church / Sunday school (or whatever you may know it as) at our church. We don’t have the best of facilities for them, and they end up in the foyer or in one of the dressing rooms in the theatre where our church meets every Sunday morning.

I tried teaching little kids at church briefly years ago, but it was probably one of the most stressful things I’d ever undertaken! The teachers who lead and teach and look after the kids every Sunday are amazing. What patience. What dedication.

Okay, now listen up, kids ...

Hold on, what did you say again? I see everyone is holding their ears. Well, apart from the kid behind me who's falling asleep ... why is that?

I know! I know! The answer is Jesus. Right?

Well, I'm having fun.

Um? Now what will I draw on my paper plate? A masterpiece, that's what.

  1. Yes, so just imagine what school teachers go through. What would happen if we paid them what they are really worth to society?

Ah, it is so nice seeing their faces all engaged as they listen to the story. Keri looks like such a natural. Wow!

  3. It is time to say “No more crumbs for the kids!’ It is sad that the kids are often relegated to what ever time and space is left for them. Children are the next generation of leaders and those that make the time and sacrifice to pour into them will be blessed.

Look how stressed she looks! In a previous life (maybe I was nine) my new Sunday school teacher took roll call for the first time. When she called my name, i said: “Absent” so she said: “Out my class, leave .. go on, scoot!!” .. i could hardly believe it .. but she clearly meant it .. so i ‘absented myself’ and walked home. Those days were so different. Safe enough for youngsters to walk home alone… even be responsible to cross busy streets by themselves.. can you remember when? And I reckon adults didn’t stress half as much either about anything, except, maybe, the price of fuel. As for me, i would never be a teacher, no way!

By the way your pics are beautiful as ever!

  7. Really good pictures yet again!

  8. Ha ha – it’s great to see their faces looking so interested…. Great Pic’s Robino (:
