Dear Café Beyritz
I must admit, at first I thought you were a bit pretentious, but you’ve started winning me over. Your cheesecake is exquisite, your cappuccinos pretty good, your fruit smoothies worth coming back for, your comfortable seats outside encouraging one to relax with friends… but thank you too for the little things – like the non-fake summery flowers on the tables. (I’m a terrible gardener – someone needs to tell me what these petite flowers are…) There’s something about making people as comfortable as possible at one’s establishment to guarantee returns. And for someone with a camera constantly at his side you give me something to do when conversation loses me…
(All of these are SOOC – straight out of the camera – no cropping, no colour correction. Beautiful.)
Lovely! Looks like my kind of cafe:D
Now….how about some cheescake?.:0)
Astromeria.
Lovely
We call these Peruvian lilies. They are quite popular in island restaurants as they last for weeks in a vase. I love them for the same reason. What good are hothouse roses? They droop and lose petals in days. Peruvian lilies are prettier, more varied and last longer. No scent tho’–another plus for restaurants.
Yes, that’s it! Now that you mention it, I believe they are called Inca lilies here in South Africa. And exactly as you described them!
the bottom one is the strongest I feel
Alstroemeria – commonly called Peruvian Lily. Great pics, Robin.. . . especially love how the background colour sets them off so beautifully
Sounds like a place I’d like to try.
Wonderful photography you just made my day!
Alstromeiria! My favourite flower. Very comforting.
The Peruvian Lilies are gorgeous. I would like to visit the cafe you described, and if ever I visit South Africa, maybe I will!
Very pretty shots, Robin. I find it hard not to reach for my camera no matter where I am, too.
